Citrus Cube is the home of freelance web designer Andrew Yee. You can check out details of some of the services I provide along with some of the web sites and designs I have created in the past. I offer a range of different services from basic web design to fully integrated dynamic web sites. Before freelancing I worked for almost 7 years for a software, web design and J2EE e-business solutions company called Cake Solutions Ltd based in the North West.

Skills/Technologies

I have many different skills as a web designer using the most popular tools. The tools I use most often are Dreamweaver and Fireworks. These are the two main web design products made by Adobe (previously made by Macromedia who Adobe bought). However sometimes I just use good old Notepad. (I specialise in building car dealer and estate agent based web sites).

By designing web sites for a job (and also hobby) I have had to deal with many issues such as cross-browser compatibility and catering for different resolutions. All the sites I design, including this one, have been tested in the most common browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. As well as keeping as many visitors happy getting the site to display correctly, I also have experience in SEO (search engine optimization) and the requirements to improve search engine ranking. (And getting the site (hopefully) to the top of Google!!).

I am experienced in working in all stages of a web site from the design stage (primarily using Adobe Fireworks as a design tool), through to website creation (using Adobe Dreamweaver) to final delivery. I am also experienced with using version control (CVS/SVN).

I have also taken some official web design related certification when I took the exam for the Macromedia Certified Dreamweaver MX Developer.

Types of web sites designed

I have designed and built many different types of web sites in the past. You can see some in my portfolio. These include course providers, offplan investment, recruitment agencies and furniture designers.

I particularly like building car dealer web sites and have designed a few in the past. The web site allow car dealers to display their stocklist online which is easily updatable. Each car has assigned several photos which can be displayed nicely. Other features/sections which can be included are an online booking system and downloadable brochures.
