The certificate in interior design will cover all the essential skills and tools involved in creating aesthetically appealing and commercially astute interiors.
You will gain understanding of the design process and techniques used in creating effective design utilising industry standard software used within the profession. The interior design fundamentals such as site survey, colour, materials and finishes, presentation techniques from the training in practice element of the course are applied to real life projects during placement in practice.
On completion of the course students, will have appropriate knowledge and a portfolio of evidence to pursue further study if desired and also have the competence for an entry level design position in the industry.
The Placement in Practice section of the course enables students to work on live projects that require complete interior design. All students will be expected to have worked on all stages of the design process at the end of this session. Students will experience working in a professional environment, interacting with practising professionals, going to site, meeting real clients, and working with real budgets on real projects. This part of the course allows students to gain the industry experience needed to further their career goals; be it to secure a job in a design practice or continue to higher education.
