Our match with FC Wirral already had the makings of a terrible day. Rob who was driving me there had this route planned out but little did we know that to get to Hough End Playing Fields if you're coming anti-clockwise round the M60, you cannot 'turn left' at Junction 5. Eventually we got there with time to spare. We have no idea whether the other guys on the team got lost!
When we started playing, it was blatantly obvious that our lack of experiece just playing 11-a-side and playing as a team was evident. FC Wirral were simply better. They had more possession of the ball. The team were able to run faster. Passing was more fluid.
Eventually we conceded a total of 7 goals. However we were able to score 2. One from Kin and one from Chris. This shows that despite a fairly one-sided thrashing, there were weaknesses in FC Wirral and we could reply.
