Services

Here are the main services I provide. The full list of the services can be seen below. If you require any more information please don't hesitate to contact me:

Web Design and development

I have had many years of experience designing and developing web sites as a job and also as a hobby. This involves dealing with many different issues involved in the whole web designing process from search engine optimising, different browsers, accessible code etc. I have designed many different sites from "brochure sites" which provide information about goods, services, the company etc to dynamic web sites using a database (more about that below).

The stages of building the web sites involve meeting with clients, creating proposed designs (using Adobe Fireworks), building the actual website (usually using Adobe Dreamweaver) to final delivery including publishing the web site to the hosting provider.

Database integration

I can design web sites which integrate with a MySQL database which can store latest news and products. Clients can then update this easily using a password protected backoffice/administration section. Examples of sites which may use a database include a car-dealer web site and a training courses web site.

Web site Maintenance

If you need someone to update your web site, with new text or images or a minor re-brand I can help. I can also add Content Management to the web site to let the client update the web site themselves.

E-Commerce

Adding e-commerce to your web site means you can open your business to many different market areas. I have designed e-commerce web sites for purchasing books and also theme park tickets.

Addition 'products' can easily be added using a password protected backoffice section.

Content Management

Your web site must be kept up to date and fresh. Not only will it keep people coming back and improve "stickability" it will also improve its effectiveness on search engines.

Content management systems allow you to update content without having to contact the original developer.

There are a few ways to go about this. One is to use a database. Content can be stored in a database and updated in a password protected backoffice section (as mentioned above) using there browser. Another is using special software such as Adobe Contribute. This allows anyone to log on to their web site and edit the site - if you can use Microsoft Word you can use Adobe Contribute.

One other option for content management is to use the blogging software Wordpress to update all the pages within the site - not just the blog part. Wordpress first started off as just a blog software, but has developed into a lot more.
