Birthday

Sunday, March 20th, 2005

BirthdayHad a birthday do yesterday with a load of friends. A few of us first went the cinema – we watched Hostage which stars Bruce Willis. I thought it was pretty good and I am now looking forward to Die Hard 4 :) We met up with a few more ppl at the New Emperor restaurant in Manchester Chinatown for a meal. It took awhile for us to decide what to order but it all got sorted in the end :) (thanks Lisa for ordering). After eating abit too much we went for drinks. We decided to head to Lucid even though we heard it was closed. We thought it may be still open or we could go somewhere else in the Printworks. Unfortunately it was closed and so was the nearby Paparazzi. Lucid was closed because they didnt get a performance license. We decided then to head to M-Two.

The queue was pretty big and we had to wait about half an hour. It was a pretty good night and some of the music was really good. It wasn’t as good towards the end but had a good time.

Afterwards a few of us went for some food. I just shared some chips. Others shared a pizza. Didnt get home till around 4am and I ended up waking up around 8am (stupid bodyclock!). Watched the football and then went back to bed. Ended up playing football myself at 12. Totally knackered afterwards but I did manage to score a goal :)

Photos will be online at some point with links to any other photos. Thanks everyone for coming and thanks for the presents/cards. Also thank you to everyone else who has sent me cards/given gifts etc (family and friends).

Berlin

Thursday, March 17th, 2005

ReichstagI went to Berlin with some friends for 3 nights (Sunday 13th – Wednesday 16th). Arrived on Sunday afternoon and came back to Liverpool on Wednesday afternoon. We checked out all the usual sightseeing things including Brandenburger Tor, Parliament Building (Reichstag), Potsdamer Platz, TV Tower (Fernsehturm) and Checkpoint Charlie. Reichstag and the TV Tower both had a pretty good view of the whole of Berlin.

We tried a few different cuisines. The German curry sausage was pretty nice especially the toasted bread. I also tried Kangaroo in an Australian bar and restaurant. It looks like beef but tasted the cross between beef and liver. It was a bit dry to be honest. I also tried a few different German beers. I don’t know if it was the whole holiday mood but the beer tasted really really nice.

There were loads of chocolate shops – a department store actually had one floor which seemed to be almost all chocolates!

One other food and drink related place – we went to Newton Bar which apparently had the best cocktails. They costed around 10Euros (about £6) – quite a lot but it was pretty nice.

Nandos … and drinks

Thursday, March 17th, 2005

I have been busy and away from the computer for a few days. Last Saturday was a friends birthday. We went to Nandos in Liverpool for some lovely chicken :) We then went to the Living Room for some drinks. Unfortunately I was driving so couldn’t drink but still had a good time. After the Living Room we went to Modo in Concert Square. We stayed for properly around half hour. To end the night went to club which I think was called The Hub (correct me if I am wrong). I left early cause I was flying to Berlin the next day. I think everyone had a good time including the birthday girl so that was good :)

Stars Wars 3 Trailer leaked

Friday, March 11th, 2005

Revenge of the SithThe trailer for Star Wars 3 has started to be shown in the cinemas (in the US I think anyway). There are lots of different version of the trailer leaked with loads of fans recording it with there camcorder. Also heard about someone recording it on their camera phone. There is also a version where somewhere has recorded it from the TV so the quality is not bad.

Here is the links:

From TV (http://webpages.charter.net/hpmcommander/sw3trailer.wmv) Introduced by ‘Seth from The OC’ – about 8Mb
Large version (http://www.semihd.com/gg/swep3tr.mov) – 34Mb
Link on official site
(These are not hosted by me)

The links may be really busy or it may be taken down before too long. Chances are though the trailer could be available official soon if its been leaked.

Ediths through!!!

Friday, March 11th, 2005

EdithA great Celeb Fame Academy show today – each student sang 4 times. As well as some new songs, they also sang groups songs and their favourite song. They also sang backing vocals for McFly for the official Comic Relief song. For the favourite songs Reggie of course sang U Can’t Touch This (MC Hammer song). It was very entertaining. Edith sang Shout (LuLu) and was great and Ade was really funny (can’t remember the name of the song. I have to say that although Kim sang really well, it was a bit dull and not really ‘comic relief’ – if you know what I mean.

Part of the footage in the program shows that they are all really having a lot of fun. One of my favourite clips was when Ade and Reggie recorded Nick’s snoring. It was also very funny when they showed Ade talking to the cameras (and the cameras ‘talking’ back).

UPDATE:
Edith wins!! Fame Academy helped raise £1.3m which is really cool.
