Tom Cruise recently tried to ban a episode of South Park which parodied the Church of Scientology. The actor who does the voice of Chef (Isaac Hayes) quit because of the episode. Hayes, who is a Scientologist, quit because of “intolerance and bigotry toward religious beliefs”. Matt Stone, who is co-creator of South Park said “In 10 years and over 150 episodes of South Park, Isaac never had a problem with the show making fun of Christians, Muslim, Mormons or Jews.
Showing that he has no sense of humour Tom Cruise got Comedy Central to cancel the episode by warning to would not promote his latest movie Mission Impossible 3. Paramount made MI3 and Paramount is owned by Viacom which also owns Comedy Central. The episode was apparently replaced by some episodes which were about Chef.
The actual episode was actually shown last November and was being repeated.
The episode includes the ‘voices’ of Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, R Kelly and John Travolta.
You can actually watch the whole episode on YouTube.
UPDATE: Oh my God!! They killed chef
South Park has exacted revenge on its former star Isaac Hayes by turning his character Chef into a paedophile and seemingly killing him off. In the new show, Chef is brainwashed by the “Super Adventure Club”. A reference to Scientology perhaps!!
The other characters are angry at “that fruity little club for scrambling his brains”. Hayes was not in the show, since hes quit. This meant his lines were apparently patched together from previous recordings.
Chef arrives back after travelling the world with the Super Adventure Club and keeps telling the children that he wants to “make sweet love” to them. The children take him to a psychiatrist and then to a strip club, where he remembers his love for women and is cured. However he is brainwashed again and then falls off a bridge and is burned, stabbed and mauled by a lion and a grizzly bear.
