Louise to be in “I’m a celebrity”??

Friday, October 13th, 2006

According to The Sun Louise Redknapp (my all time favourite celeb:)) will be in the latest series of I’m a celebrity get me out of here. I am not sure if it would be a good thing for her career wise. However it would be great to see her more on TV – it could be good publicity for her upcoming music stuff.

This story is appears not to be true as Louise is now part of The Clothes Show and will be on TV every Sunday to the end of the year. Posted on her Myspace page it says she is filming The Clothes Show and will be recording new tracks for a new album.

Louise will be on TV for The Clothes show on UKStyle on Sundays starting on 22nd Oct at 6pm.

Bad week for England

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

RobinsonEngland ‘played’ Croatia last night and I use the word played loosely. It was really football but more like 11 men running around with the ball occasionally hitting them. For the record we lost 2-0. This ended a bad week for England after a poor performance against Macedonia (0-0) – however that performance was amazing if compared to the shambles from last night.

Croatia are playing well recently and actually won something like 7-0 in their last game. It doesnt help then that the manager for some reason decides to play some untried formation. Changing system to 3-5-2. Quite a negative formation and also none of the players play it in their club side. To make things worse we actually we played more like 5-3-2 (or maybe even 7-1-2!!) We just dont have the players to play that formation – Gary Neville is a great defender but no wing-back. On MOTD, Alan Hansen said that vast majority of players he has talked to dont like playing with 3 centre backs. If they are not used to playing it quite often a couple players go for the same ball and sometimes no player at all.

As proof on how bad we were we had 2 shots in the game – the first one in the 91st minute!!

Air shot

Everyone will remember about Robinson’s air kick. He made some good saves and actually kept us in the game. Arguably our best player – certainly in the first half. However he was a bit at fault to the first goal being too far off line. Leading up to the first goal he actually could have caught the ball but decided to punch it. The second goal wasnt his fault – its one of those things. However when you are playing badly it all seems to go wrong for you. The ball hit a divet and bounced over his foot and he kicked air. By this point it was so bad you just had to laugh!

It doesnt help that our best player is not playing well – Rooney was abit better but still not his usual self – he was properly the best of the worse.

We are missing Owen really – we dont have an out and out striker with pace. Rooney always drops back and Crouch doesnt play that far forward and doesnt make many forward runs behind the defenders. Made abit of difference when Defoe came on stretching the Croatia defence

Bring back Beckham!!!

I think we need Becks back. I am not the only one who thinks so – the England fans were singing “‘One David Beckham” at the end of the game.

McClaren’s advisor Max Clifford has said about McClaren dropping Becks from the squad “What it did was stamp his authority and say ‘I’m not Sven’s assistant, I’m my own man’,”.

Is he saying what a lot of us were thinking – McClaren didn’t drop Becks because he was not good enough for the squad but to (try) and proof he was not just Sven Mk II.

Top Gear now back filming

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Top GearTop Gear has started filming again. Its only 15 days after Richard Hammond crashed in the jet car. They are resuming filming parts of the show which don’t involve Richard. Jeremy Clarkson was filming a test drive of the Lotus Europa.

Its still not clear when the show will be back on though. More than likely next year. As long as Richard is 100% fit and doesnt rush coming back. When it comes back it looks like it will the same as it was before which is great – if they toned if down it wouldnt be the same. Executive producer Andy Wilman actually vowed to quit if the emphasis on speed was toned down.

The Hoff – Jump in my car

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Everyone should buy The Hoff’s latest song. Its called “Jump in my car” and its a classic. The video is funny (and wrong in so many ways) – see below. I remember seeing the video online a couple months or so and its just taken off the publicity since with mentions all over the Internet, TV and radio.

There are many people trying to get it to number 1. For example Scott Mills on Radio 1 had The Hoff in the studio last week and has been playing the song all the time. They even got Laura from his show giving people money to go and buy the song.

United win – Ole scores

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

Ole Gunnar SolskjaerUnited beat Newcastle 2-0 on Sunday. Ole scored a couple which was brilliant. Last time he scored at OT was in April 2003 because of his injury problems. We should have won by more hitting the post 4 times (Ronaldo hit post 3 times himself). Bad thing to come out of match was that Heinze injured. Fletcher did really well. We also should have got a penalty when Taylor handled the ball. Taylor faked injury again like he did a season ago versus Villa. He got away with it this time after he handballed in the penalty box and pretended it hit him in the stomach area.

Another poor thing is that Rooney is still playing poor. Thank goodness for Ronaldo who is well on the way to being player of the year.

Fergie has also said that Solskjaer has been great coming back after all his problems. Many players would have given up. He said “If you are out of the game for two years at his age you have doubts. “But you might find it difficult to believe that a player at the age of 33 is getting better – but that is what we have seen this season.”

Ole has said the thought of playing alongside Rooney and Ronaldo was some sort of inspiration to comeback.

To make things better Chelsea drew against Villa. Arsenal won though – great goal from Van Persie. However Charlton should have had a penalty when Gallas handled the ball in the area. Once again Arsene Wenger didnt see incident. The post match interview was quite amusing – him trying to say he didnt see it, without actually saying it :)

In other game Portsmouth v Spurs there was another dive – Mendes didnt touch Zokora. Spurs manager Martin Jol said “I think Didier was anticipating Mendes’ tackle and maybe lost his balance. But I don’t think he did it on purpose. We don’t want that sort of thing but I think this was something different.” Off balance – yeah right. So when your of balance do you also lift you legs off the ground like you have been shot. West Ham continue there bad form – they have not won since signing Tevez and Mascherano. At this rate they have properly lost value now! Reading scored a great goal against them – goal from Korean player Seol Ki-Hyeon who looks like a real decent player.

In the game Liverpool v Charlton – they got freekick when Reina was judged to have handled ball outside box. He kicked the ball outside the box but it was not in his hands. Its almost every weekend that theres at least a very poor refereeing (or linesman) decision.
