Manchester City Council have a new proposal which is just terrible. They are proposing to extend parking charges. It will mean that you will now need to pay for parking on the streets from 8am till midnight. Also you wont be able to park for longer than 1 hour!! So even if you come and park on a night out you wont be able to see a movie or show or gig and the meal will have to be something really quick then – how does McDonalds sound for a nice romantic night out!!! They are claiming congestions problems and also things like it will help people find car park places. Well it will because no one will come to Manchester – less shoppers (they will go to Trafford Centre), less theatre goers, less people going to restaurants. This will turn the city centre into a ghost town and ruin Manchester.

For people who live in the city centre like me it will cause real hardship – mortgage increases have only recently increased!!! It will also mean family and friends will be unable to visit and also could mean the properties will be difficult to sell.

This is just another stupid idea by the council and is stealth taxation by way of a war on cars – it will be bad for almost everyone!! They also said it would be easier for residents to find a parking place nearer their home – I just dont understand how it will be easier. Also why on earth would someone want a space for one hour??? What good is that to anyone?

Also discounted rates at the city’s car parks will disappear as soon as they realise that they do not have to compete against free parking. Nooooooo!!! Please everyone fill in the form to disagree with this proposal. It just takes a minute.

I wasnt going to write about Big Brother this time round but its been in all the news and I just have to talk about it.

Only been watching bits and pieces of Celeb Big Brother this year. Don’t know most of them and just HATE the ideal that someone so stupid and talentless as Jade can be a multi-millionaire. While talking about the people in the house I just have to talk about Jade’s boyfriend who seems as stupid as Jade. He’s apparently a football agent and is in the house during the transfer window!! He also doesnt know what (or how to say) embryo (and also was confused about why men have nipples and thought that he could milk them!!) WTF!!

Anyway, its been in the news the last day even more than normal and thats because of this apparent racism issue. I have seen some of the clips and read various articles about this. I don’t think it is racist – it may be bullying but not racist. More ignorance if anything. I think its jump normal bitching – just what girls do when they group together – its can be horrible etc but its not racist.

Get real people!!

It seems one person mentions the ‘race’ word and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Also what is really annoying me is that politicians are talking about this (or certainly wanting to talk about it). Surely they have a lot more important things to talk about than what a bunch of D-list celebs are doing in a house.

Also why does no one mention when Jermaine called Jackiey “white trash”. If you consider the bullying of Shilpa racist than surely that comment from Jermaine can be considered racist. Also some people are saying they are immitating her voice/accent. Is this really racism??? Shilpa has been immitating Dirk and Jade’s accent/voice.

I have heard that more than 15,000 have complained about racism in Big Brother. Come on!! Get real people!

I just to add about Leo Sayer. He showed himself to be a utter prat. Always swearing, having a go at Big Brother. Basically thinking he was bigger and more popular than he really was.

UPDATE (19/01/07): Looks like some of the ‘Witches’ – as they seem to be being called have lost out on sponsor money. Jades perfume has been pulled from some shelves, Danielle has been dumped from modeling deal, believed to be worth six figures. Jo doesn’t have any sponsorship deals so cant be dropped from anything!! I heard on Radio 1 on Scott Mills that they having a S Club 7 amnesty – you cant throw away your old S Club albums! Also Carphone Warehouse and O2 no longer sponsor Big Brother – they had a £3m deal.

Hopefully this is the end of gobby Jade.

Another thing I just have to say is that the covers of all the newspapers today are all about Big Brother and 3 stupid girls bitching about someone else rather than the terrible weather yesterday causing £1000′s of damage, killing several people and injuring many. Just shows you tabloids and society in general today!

United’s Chinese internation player Dong Fangzhou has signed a new contract. He got a work permit with us in December and the new deal will keep him at United till 2010.

Fergie said: “We’re all excited he has eventually arrived and can start playing.” When he was on loan in Belgium with Antwerp he scored 36 goals in 61 games. I know the Belgium league isnt known for being one of the top leagues but thats not a bad record. Fergie also said “He sacrificed two-and-a-half years at Antwerp, which showed great patience and determination.” “He’s quick, athletic and he can only improve by training with the first team squad here.”

A few days ago he tried to smash a guitar over a photographer’s face. Over the weekend Pete Doherty (scum) was arrested and released after being spotted in a car that was reported stolen. The arrest came when he fled from police just hours after telling fans at a gig, “I’m never getting married. I don’t believe in it. Kate and I are in love – I worship her – but we’re not going down the aisle. I’m happy the way it is.” Someone please just lock the complete waste of space up.

He is in court more times than out of it. Why is he being let off – people are in prison for doing a lot less.

Apple have recently announced there next new product. Its called the iPhone. There could be some problems with the name though as there is a product by Cisco also called iPhone and Cisco may sue.

I think it looks really cool. If you see some of the videos of Steve Jobs announcing the iPhone you will have to try to ignore the annoying audience woooping and cheering.

The iPhone is a phone, web browser and iPod combined. It uses new fancy touch screen technology and it does look cool. It has 4Gb of memory and will cost $499. One problem I foresee (although it may work OK) is if you are on the phone, surely your eye/face will touch the screen and press the buttons.

UPDATE:

The iPhone will apparently cost £595 in the UK. Thats for the 4Gb model. The 8Gb model will cost £660 (only £65 more for double the storage????). This is according to some early, pre-order prices on Amazon Germany. If you buy it from the US it will cost about £255 (4Gb) and £306 (8Gb). Rip off Britain again!!

To make you feel better and make the iPhone seem not as good as it first seemed here are some things about it (most confirmed, some rumours):

* The iPhone will be 3G when it arrives in Europe but it will not arrive for a year – not the end of 2007 as expected.
* It will be a closed device and will only run software released by Apple.
* It will use Apple’s DRM software FairPlay which, ironically, no one thinks is fair, at all. This will stop users from playing anything other than music bought via iTunes.
* Apple could win the right to use the iPhone name in Europe, thanks to a loophole says Outlaw.com.
