More car problems :(

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

More car problems – ahhh!!! First alarm broke, then the damage to it, then the cloned number plate and now problem with gear linkages. I think its gear linkages anyway. Its getting difficult to put car into first gear and abit harder for 2nd gear.

Going to garage on Friday to hopefully sort it.

Comic Relief 2007

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

Comic ReliefIt was Comic Relief on Friday and this year it seemed better than others. It just seemed to have all sorts of funny stuff. The highlights of the night was Top Gear of the Pops – a special car version of Top of the Pops presented by the 3 presenters of Top Gear. The best thing though was when Catherine Tate visited Tony Blair. It was very very funny. A future in acting I think for Tony.

I have never really watched Catherine Tate show but after watching all the clips she did for Comic Relief I think I will be watching it from now on.

I have donated a little to Comic Relief but I think I will donate more. I tried to win tickets for the Chris Moyles Rallyoke thing – unfortunately I didnt win. I may buy the special Little Britain DVD and maybe also the special Peter Kay 500 miles song. That was very funny too and the music video had all sorts of z-list stars. (See vid below).

United v Europe Jubilee Charity match

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

Last Tuesday I went to a special United v Europe XI match. It was to celebrate 50 years of Treaty of Rome and also United’s involvement in Europe. There were some great players on show and Fergie put out a decent team. There were some players who were supposed to play but were injured. Ronaldinho was injured – would have been great to see him play. The other Ronaldo wasnt available for some reason. Also Beckham was going to play but got injured – I was gutted. Would have been great to see him play again at Old Trafford. However he did come on the pitch at half time and made a speech and said stuff about United having best manager and the fans helped him a lot etc. He got a great reception from the fans. A United legend! I have linked to some YouTube vids of better quality, however in my vids I did manage to get a video when they missed penalty and when Ronaldo scored that amazing freekick.

The match finished 4-3. We were winning 4-1 by half time. At half time as expected there was several changes and a few of our better players went off including Rooney and Ronaldo.

One thing about the match that was great was all of Ronaldo’s trick. Every time he got the ball everyone cheered. However when he tried one of his trick he managed to fall over!! Sell him!!! Hehe

During the match in the 2nd half – a mexican wave started going around and loads of people made paper airplanes (for some reason) and tried to get them on the pitch. A few people did manage it.

When Liverpool players came on they got booed (also Diouf did) – all in good humour though. Gerrard was apparently seen joking with some fans – although they may have been Liverpool fans.

There were no real tackles – however Scholes went in with quite a strong tackle though – didnt show on replays in stadium! On the giant screens in the stadium they showed the BBC coverage but whenever something controversial happened they just showed some thing about Manchester United Foundation. In another incident in the match, Smith was challenged once which was not quite in keeping with a friendly match. He then went to make a great tackle (on a different player).

Apparently Zidane was going to play – that would have been brilliant. However he found out Matarazzi was in the squad (thats the bloke he headbutted in the World Cup). Matarazzi, in keeping for the dirty player he is tripped Ronaldo when he beat him and made him look like a fool.

Here is a homemade highlights clip of the match

Heres Becks speech

Photos and vids now online.

Cloned number plate

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

More car problems. Got a letter from council recently about a parking ticket not being paid. No idea will I got it as the place it named I had not been to before and happened on a Friday afternoon when I was in work.

Managed to see the photo evidence and its clearly not my car. I wont go into all the differences just incase this other person reads this – you never know! Although its a black Corsa there are about 7 differences between that car and mine.

I went to the police and they updated their ‘intelligence’ – whatever that means!! Also sent letter to DVLA and form back to council. Will have to see what happens…..

England squad

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

The England squad was announced the other day. There is no Joey Barton or Gareth Barry in the squad. Why did he pick him for the friendly (and give them either 10 mins or play them out of position)!!
