Man Utd 6 -0 Newcastle

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

RonaldoUnited played Newcastle today. It was an evening kick-off and with Arsenal only drawing with Birmingham if we won we would go top.

It was a frustrating first half ending 0-0. I thought it was going to be one of those games!! We had several chances but finishing was abit poor. We had the majority of the possession. Newcastle had some chances and a goal by Owen was dis-allowed for offside (replays show it was fine).

Second half was much better and the game finished 6-0. Ronaldo scored a hat-trick (finally!! he has scored 2 goals loads of times for us). Thats now 22 goals this season – only 1 less than the whole of last season!! AMAZING!!!

Tevez got a couple – although his 2nd was arguably not quite over the line. Rio also got one – a strikers finish!

The only negative was Rooney not scoring – he had his chances and was denied by great saves by Given.

This will do my fantasy football scores loads of good!! Ronaldo is captain, I have Tevez in team and Rio too – only put Rio in this week as Wes Brown was suspended.

Tom Hanks is an Aston Villa fan

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

Tom HanksTom Hanks was in the UK recently for the premiere of his latest movie Charlie Wilson’s War.

He was at the premiere and he wore an Aston Villa scarf. However what he said was PRICELESS!! He said Aston Villa sounds like a lovely town. LOL

Its always great when Americans talk about football and pretend to know what they are talking about – although he did sort of admit he doesnt know about football.

Here is the interview where he briefly mentions Villa.

Back to work

Monday, January 7th, 2008

Back to work today :( Not too bad considering first day back and also body clock still abit funny!! Last night I didnt go to sleep till about 1am – couldnt sleep plus I watched the end of Kate and Leopold – Meg Ryan looked great before she ruined it getting her lips done!!

Also first day back to the gym for more than 2 weeks. Not done any exercise over Christmas apart from a few push up! Decided this year will get super fit. Gym started with running – I hate running!! I normally leave the running to when I play football but starting to think about the Great Manchester Run this summer.

Its just wrong!!

Monday, January 7th, 2008

Beckham has been training with the Arsenal football team to keep himself fit while his team LA Galaxy are not playing (they missed out on the play-offs).

Apparently he will be training with the reserve team and occassionally the first team. I reckon Arsene Wenger will be getting Becks to take freekicks against Almunia!!

I wonder if Becks can get some secret tactics from Arsenal and relay them back to United!!
