It was the Manchester Tourism Awards recently and somehow Cloud 23 won the Best Tourism Bar of the Year Award!! The judges must have liked the long (pointless) queues, over-pricing and bad service!! I have only been there once and you really do pay just for the view. We waited for about an hour, when we got up there it was not that busy. Also you had to wait for someone to come round to order a drink and then wait ages for it. Cocktails average about £8-9 and some come with mostly ice!!

I went to watch Awake at the cinema today. It was OK. A million times better than the last movie I saw which was Meet The Spartans but thats not difficult!!!

The movie had Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba and Terrence Howard. Hayden is not exactly well known for being a great actor and he wasnt particularly great in this (although his voiceover is rather dull) but OK I guess. Jessica Alba looked amazing in it. Shes never going to be the best actress in the world but she did OK too.

The movie seemed abit longer than it was (its only about 85 minutes). It has a good twist in it. One thing I was not keen on was the surgery scenes. A lot of the movie had lots of scenes of cutting up his chest and “ripping” it apart. It was unnecessary in my opinion.

So United played Roma on Wednesday in the 2nd leg of the Quarter Finals in the Champions League. It was an OK match and some good performances from some players. United rested Ronaldo for the whole match and rested Rooney for most of the match and also Scholes was rested.

United won 1-0 with a goal from Tevez after a great cross by Hargreaves. In fact Hargreaves had a brilliant game! He was playing on the right hand side of the midfield and actually worked really hard running up and down the wing and putting in some brilliant crosses. Park was also excellent – he just runs and runs and puts so much effect in!!

Its now Barcelona next in about 2 and a half weeks. First leg in Barcelona and second leg will be at Old Trafford. Ronaldinho wont be playing for them but it looks like Messi will be fit for them.

Arsenal played Liverpool in the quarter final of the Champions League and it was an excellent match. I had a slight preference on Liverpool winning. Ideally it would have gone to extra time so Arsenal would be even more tired (with them playing us at the weekend). Also I hate Arsenal more!! E.g. dont like Arsene Wenger, hate player like Eboue and Gallas. I like Rafa Benitez and think Torres is a brilliant player.

It was a great game with everything. Arsenal started the better and were excellent in the first 25 minutes or so. They scored quite early on with some great play. Reina in goal maybe should have done better. However the 2nd half of the first half was more Liverpool and they scored from a corner and poor defending by Sendoros. It was a bit of a rollercoaster the match because of the away goal and who would have gone through. Torres scored to make it 2-1 and that meant Liverpool through. However Arsenal then after a brilliant run by Theo Walcott who seemed to run right pass all the Arsenal players! Liverpool then went 3-2 ahead after Babel was brought down. Looking at the replays there was not too much contact between Babel and Toure so you could say Arsenal were unlucky. (Arsenal will feel even worse with the penalty claim in the first leg when Hleb was pulled back by Kuyt). Gerrard took the penalty well. With it 4-3 on aggregate it meant if Arsenal scored they would be through. However to make it certain Babel scored another for Liverpool.

Well its the important match tomorrow when United played Roma.

Pete Doherty has been in and out of court so many times in the last 12 months or so with all his drug issues. I have already said enough about Pete Doherty in the past!! He seems to always get away with going to prison – its almost like because he is famous he doesnt have to go to prison.

He has finally been sent to prison (for 14 weeks) for violating his probation and for using drugs.

Maybe this will get him to sort his life out …. but I doubt it!
