How many houses do you own ….. i’m not sure

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

McCainThe US Presidential race continues and the 2 candidates are starting to have a go at one another. To be honest I have not really paid much attention since its in another country and everything but I am personally just glad that George W Bush will no longer be in power.

The latest to come out from America is controversy about McCain and his housing “status”. Someone asked McCain “How many houses do you have?” Amazingly he answered “‘I’m not sure, I’ll have to check with my staff,’” WHAT!!!!!

What Obama had to say about this was: “If you don’t know how many houses you have, then it’s not surprising that you might think the economy is fundamentally strong.” (It turns out he owns 7 houses).

However the McCain camp has fought back with a McCain spokesman saying about Obama: “Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses?”

However, I think the thing which is a serious negative to McCain’s campaign is that George W Bush endorses McCain for president.

Ex Big Brother ‘star’ is mugged by stupidest man in UK

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

The first person to be evicted from the Big Brother house, Steph, appears to have been mugged by a man who is quite possibly one of the stupidest men in the UK.

He is seen looking through her handbag while she is outside the club. At the time loads of paparazzi were around taking her photo. Check out the photos showing him looking in her bag. Shortly afterwards she noticed her mobile had disappeared and she confronted the fool.

Usain Bolt

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Usain Bolt, as expected, won the 200 metre final yesterday. Once again it was a brilliant performance. This time, unlike his 100 metres, he tried all the way. He really wanted the world record as this is his favoured event.

He finished miles ahead of everyone else and beat the world record with a time of 19.30. AMAZING!!!

This Olympic Games is turning into the best ever. The amazing performances of Michael Phelps, the “superman” Usain Bolt and the number of medals Team GB has won. Its the most since 1908 (and in 1908 we would something like 50-odd golds but that was because there was only about 8 countries taking part and in many events there were just British athletes).

So long … good riddance!!

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

The chief executive of the FA, Brian Barwick, is to leave his job at the end of the year. Barwich was the man who hired Steve McLaren. That turned out really successful didnt it!! He of course also hired Capello – lets hope this eventually works out.

However, this is typical The FA. They are really hopefully! Great timing!!! This is all before the very important World Cup qualifiers!! Once again off the field activities could disrupt whats happening on the pitch!!

I suppose every cloud has a silver lining. Lets hope the FA get in Sir Trevor Brooking as chief executive.

Same old England!!!

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Cole and TerryEngland played the Czech Republic tonight and the game ended 2-2. However that doesnt tell the whole story. It was an overall poor performance by England and the newspapers will have a field day. The England team were lead by new England captain John Terry. I really wanted it to be Rio Ferdinand. I think Rio makes a good captain but also because I think Terry is an idiot. Hes the man who harrasses referees, makes fun of 9/11 (taunting American tourists shortly after 9/11) and parks in disabled parking spaces.

Terry has said that he thinks hes England captain because he showed his character (or something like that) after crying like a baby in the Champions League final by playing the really important game against the USA and “leading” the team. WHATEVER!!

Anyway, back to the game ….

It seems like the same old England. Capello has now managed 5 England games so should have had the time to sort it out. England didnt really play like we expect a Capello team to play with a really solid defence.  The defending tonight was terrible.

Looking at the team sheet before the game it was just like the same old England playing players out of position and where they are not used to. Gerrard still playing on the left and always cutting on to his right foot. Once again a team with both Gerrard and Lampard just not working!

England are also just not comfortable on the ball and keeping the ball for a significant amount of time. Its always given away. Dont know if its a England thing or what the manager wanted but whenever we lost the ball we always went running after the ball. As a result players were out of position and complete sides of the pitch had no covering players. Two players who did this were Lampard and Beckham.

To be honest the first half was “OK” with some decent possession and a few chances. However the 2nd half was terrible with shambolic defending including some good old David James madness which almost resulted in a Czech Republic goal. (Great second goal by Czech Republic – a free kick Beckham would have been proud of).

To show that the England performance was so poor was that the sponsors give the man of the match to a Czech player.

Lets just hope we play better in the important World Cup qualifiers coming up!!
