Jose: Drogba is a diver

Friday, October 24th, 2008

A few newspapers recently had a quote from Jose Mourinho (former Chelsea manager, now Inter Milan manager) which made me smile :)

“I am no longer Chelsea coach and I do not have to defend them any more but I think it is correct if I say Drogba is a diver.”

Beckham to Milan???

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

BeckhamThe latest transfer news is that David Beckham is going on loan to AC Milan. There was talk a few days ago that Beckham would sign for a premier league team so he could keep up his fitness and improve his chances of adding to his number of England caps. (The MLS season ends this weekend).

The latest is that the talks are “going well”. Some people think the move will show up Beckham and that he is now “past it”. I think it could be a good move, he will be surrounded by excellent players and Italian football has a slower pace so his lack of pace (hes never been that fast). I am sure Milan will sell a few Beckham shirts as well!!

There are also rumours in the papers today that Harry Redknapp (Portsmouth) would be interested in signing Beckham if the Milan deal falls through.

If you look at some of Beckham’s goals on Youtube you realise what a great player he is. Here are Beckhams “top ten goal”.

United in Europe

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Anderon (and Celtic player)It was Champions League again this week and United played Celtic tonight at Old Trafford. United won 3-0 in the end and played well. Rooney in particular played brilliantly and got a goal. He actually had another goal which was wrongly ruled out as offside.

United’s two goals were scored by Berbatov. Looking at the replays straight after the goals both of them were possibly just offside. (Although they looked at the replays again after the match and technically they were “just” onside with the Celtic player’s trailing legs playing Berbatov onside). This now leaves United top of the table!

Berbatov is starting to form a good partnership with Rooney and he is even tracking back and helping out the team in defense – he mentioned something about it in a post-match interview. Nani also played well – recently he has been really frustrating always trying to shoot but he was excellent tonight. Being on Everton at the weekend……

Order your food on the table!!

Monday, October 20th, 2008

I watched the Gadget Show tonight and its general theme for the challenge this week has “spying”. One of the challenges was held in a Japanese restaurant where they could order food and drinks on the table. It was an LCD touch screen table. After doing some research, have found out what restaurant it is. Its called Inamo and is Soho, London. Looks like a nice place!!

New camera!!! Panasonic Lumix FS20

Monday, October 20th, 2008

I was planning on getting a new digital camera after Christmas, with it showing its age (quality of photos and also the clicking sound when the lens closed!!) but with it breaking about a week ago I ordered a new one last week. I was going to buy another Casio Exilim but read some poor reviews with some of the later models, I ended up getting the Panasonic Lumix FS20 – it has loads of fancy features such as face detection for up to 15 faces, automatic “scene” detection etc. Also comes with a nice 3″ screen, 4 x optical zoom, a wide angle lens and 10 megapixels.

I ordered the camera on Friday morning and it arrived today (Monday). Impressed with the service provided by UK Digital Cameras. I choose the 2-4 working day delivery option so happy it arrived today. Had a little play with it already taking some night shots out the window and very impressed so far.
