It seems to happen all the time. We got abit of snow and the whole country seems to grind to a halt. Admittedly it was the worst for 18 years but weather forecasters knew all about it days in advance so where are the gritters. It was extremely heavy in London so I can understand some of the problems its caused but sometimes in this country after just a few centimetres its chaos.
They seem to cope all around the world – in Canada they have several feet of snow and they seem to survive. The country doesnt stop. God forbid it snowed more often – we would never get any work done!! Apparently 1 in 5 people stayed at home. It apparently will effect the people who managed to get to work too. In London, amazingly they closed ALL the buses have been cancelled and all but one of the London Underground lines. Also one of the runways at Heathrow has been closed and all flights were cancelled till 5pm.
Its also effected the last day of the football transfer window being extended from 5pm.
