Top Gear – F1 SIARPC

Monday, July 12th, 2010

If your wondering what SIARPC stands for its Star in a reasonably priced car. Last night, Rubens Barrichello was the latest F1 driver to drive the original car.

He looked quick and it was. He beat The Stig’s time by 0.1 seconds. :D . Off the top of my head his time was 1:44.1. All the F1 drivers have been very close (Button, Mansell, Hamilton, Webber – his time was done in the wet)and the most impressive is still properly Lewis Hamilton with a time I think of 1:44.7 but it was in the wet. I am happy Rubens is the fastest – a top bloke!

24 finale

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

So thats it for 24. Another series end for good. I personally thought it was a good finale. Overall 24 has been a brilliant series and there may be more with the rumoured movie.

Spoilers coming up…..

The finale (2 hours) had what you expect with 24. Jack Bauer seemingly taking on the world. His “sidekick” being his long time friend Chloe. When they first met (back in season 1??), you would never have expected that Chloe would be by Jack’s side. She also talked him out of taking revenge and killing the president of Russia.

The finale showed some great acting from Kiefer Sutherland, Cherry Jones (president) and Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe). It was good to see the wimpy, dodgy Charles Logan die. (Or did he?? They said he was alive but would be brain-dead. Could he return??).

The end scene showed Jack on his own. He was a “wanted” man and the US authorities and also Russian authories on the look out for him. This was all shown from one of the cameras in the drone belonging to CTU. A nice touch right at the end was the time counting down to 00:00:00.

Even though I heard that there was going to be a 24 movie I didnt know if Jack would survive or not. I thought the 24 movie could easily have been some sort of prequel or certainly before “Day 8″.

At least this was more straight forward than Lost!
