Its Champions League week again this week and both Liverpool and Chelsea played today. I watched the Liverpool game and they ended up drawing 1-1. It was a bit like the Spurs game when Liverpool played the best and had most of the chances. However Atletico Madrid took the lead with a well worked goal. Liverpool should have had a penalty for a handball but it wasnt given. The ref and linesmen generally had a poor game.
Deep into injury time Liverpool got a penalty when Gerrard dived. There was seconds left and he just jumped into a defender. He didnt get the biggest touch but then did the Gerrard dive (open mouth, right arm in the air). It was a terrible dive but on the whole with all the chances you could argue they deserved at least a draw. Still, it was another dive from Gerrard.
In the Chelsea game, Chelsea lost 3-1 to Roma. Deco was also sent off to make things worse for Chelsea for 2 yellow cards. His 2nd yellow card was for taking a quick freekick – possibly before the ref said it was OK. Seemed abit harsh but I dont care!!! LOL
United and Arsenal tomorrow ….
