In a recent interview, Sir Alex Ferguson, commented on Ronaldo. He has said hes really proud when he see Ronaldo, he believes that when Ronaldo came to United as a young player it was at the right time of his career. He even says “he may come back, you never know“.

It certainly does seem that Ronaldo left on good terms with Fergie and United. I have said it before, ever since Ronaldo has left United he has said some very nice things about United.

Back to the subject of Ronaldo maybe one day returning to United, he said “I don’t see it happening if things go wrong at Real Madrid necessarily, but he loved Manchester United so it may happen. He loved the club. If you look at the six years he had with us, he never missed training and he was never injured. He always played. He was fantastic.” “It wasn’t easy to see him leave. I had a good chat with the boy about it but he had made up his mind. Last year he was begging me to let him go but this year it was a sensible discussion.”

Fergie also said that he believes Ronaldo is the best player in the world by miles. Streets ahead of Kaka and Messi. “There is no doubt it is a huge loss. It is a challenge for us because it won’t be the same without Ronaldo. He is the best player in this world of ours – by absolutely miles. He is streets ahead of Lionel Messi, streets ahead of Kaka. Look at his figures. They are unbelievable. The attempts he has had on goal, the attacks in the penalty box, his positions, his headers, his shots.”

Anyway, good luck to Ronaldo but if United play Real in the Champions League I hope he ends up on the losing side!! So far his Real Madrid career hasnt gone to well playing 45 minutes against Shamrock Rovers (who finished last season in 7th place in the LOI premier division) and didnt play that well – and Real Madrid only won 1-0 with a late goal by Benzema. On the other side, new United no.7 Michael Owen has played in 2 games and scored 2 goals.

Owen > Ronaldo > Tevez

According to Ronaldo he left on good terms with Fergie and Manchester United. He gave us 6 years and United made him into the player he is and I think he knows it. He has developed from a young player with lots of potential – remember the million stepovers to a World class player.

In a cermoney where he was unveiled he has said some nice things about United – its fans, Fergie, team-mates.

He said: “I have to say thank you to all supporters, my boss, my friends and my team-mates because I’d been there six years and I had a good relationship with all people there. But the people understand my decision and the people respect that. Of course it’s a great challenge now and the people know my dream is to play in Madridand of course it’s a great challenge now.

I am going to miss many things about Manchester. But this is life, this is my new home and my new club and I will give 100% here. My relationship with Alex Ferguson was always good and it will stay that way forever. It would be fantastic to play against United. Sir Alex joked with me about that, he told me he wanted to play against me in the final in Madrid. I’ll put Evra against you, to kick you. I hope so. This is now my club, but I have a good relationship with Manchester and I wish all the best for the team and for Alex Ferguson.”

(Love how Fergie said would get Evra against him to kick him!)

I have nothing against him leaving us and going to his boyhood team. I would do the same!

Earlier on in the day he did say part of the motivation for moving to Real was that he thought La Liga was better than the Premier League.

“I think La Liga is going to have more quality because of the players that are arriving,” he said. “All the players have a lot of quality and the referees protect the players.” He certainly will get more protection!! Maybe he will go back to his diving days. He also has a point now that La Liga will have arguably the top 3 players in the world. Ronaldo, Messi and Kaka. (Or two of the top 3, if your FIFA who have Torres as 3rd).

Anyway. I hope United meet Real in the Champions League!!

Hes not official been sold yet and is still official a United player but the deal is all but done. Ronaldo will be leaving United for Real Madrid for £80m. Its a huge amount of money – although I have read it may be paid in instalments. More crazy is the amount hes being paid. He will be on a 6 year contract with pay increasing 25% each year. Apparently he will earn something like £530k a WEEK!!! Crazy!!!

He was an amazing player and will miss his skill. Its now a question of who United buy to replace him. You really need 2 players to replace him with a winger and a striker. It looks like United will get Valencia from Wigan but hes of course no way compared to Ronaldo as a winger. Also, it looks more and more like Tevez will leave so we could need 2 strikers?? We be interesting to see what happens and if we actually do manage to buy anyone! Benzema is a good option but he apparently doesnt want to leave Lyon and even if he does would prefer Spain. David Villa would be great but seems unlikely. Argually 4 of the best players in the world, now play in Spain: Ronaldo, Kaka, Iniesta, Messi.

Anyway,…… I am sure Fergie knows what hes doing!!………

(I hope Barcelona win the Spanish league and cup next season!)

He will be paid £220,000 a week (a ridiculous amount of money).

However, it looks like no matter how much money they offer for Ronaldo, Fergie wont want to say him. He said just a few weeks ago that “I wouldn’t sell them a virus.” He also said “Do you really think I’d enter into a deal with that mob?

No matter what this will no doubt continue and really start up again in the summer when the transfer market opens.

Hes the first Premier League player to win the award. The other players in the running were Kaka, Torres and Messi.

He also said about his manager Sir Alex Ferguson and how important he has been in his career to make him the player he is: “It’s also true that the manager always has an important role to play. It was a great season for me and for my club and the coach was important for me because I learned a lot for him”. “His experience over so many years is of paramount importance – it’s a privilege to have such a great club manager”.”This is the climax of a fantastic era for me. I’m happy and proud about what has been done by my team and what we have won”. “I am lucky to be part of the history of a club like Manchester United.”

(I wonder with his saying climax is he thinking of leaving at the end of the season??)

Would he stay at United, go to Real Madrid. It went on and on and everyone was sick/bored of the whole thing.

In the end Ronaldo stayed and was staying for what would properly be till the end of the season. A few days ago, Real Madrid president said that their pursuit of Ronaldo was “completely over”.

In the news today Ronaldo has said he made the right decision rejecting the move to Real and expected to stay beyond the end of the season.

“Now I understand I made the best decision,” Ronaldo told Spanish sports paper Marca. “I am with Manchester in body and soul”.

“I want to respect the club, my colleagues and the fans and don’t want to talk about other teams at present.”

Lets see if he is saying the the same thing at the end of the season!!!

Seems to be “falling” abit theatrically though – like Ronaldo cira 2004 ish. Rooney had a first goal disallowed and the ref thought he pushed the defender. Harsh decision and it was a great goal!

There was another Liverpool comeback. Went behind after an error by Liverpool but ended up winning 3-2.
Good game with good goals against Wigan – Wigan unlucky to lose. Another good game from Zaki and 2 goals from him.

Chelsea won 5-0 and that was without 7 first team players. Shows the strength in the squad. They arguably should have won by more. Terry was magically fit after being “injured” and not able to play for England on Wednesday. Boro were very poor and Chelsea destroyed them in the 2nd half.

Arsenal game. They went behind but ended up winning 3-1. It was the first game also for Silvestre – the former United player. All changed for Arsenal it seemed when Walcott came on at half time.

Another good week in the fantasy football again with about 71 points.

He said “”Sir Alex Ferguson heard my arguments, I heard his and, in fact, it was settled that the best for both parties would be for me to stay”. “I can confirm that, next season, I will play for Manchester United.”

That looks like the saga finally over until next summer when it will start over again. If everything in the paper is true there are some good quotes from him.

“Before rumours emerge saying that I will play against my will, I want to make this clear – whoever says or writes that is lying,”

“I will play for Manchester with all my heart and soul. I will fight and honour that shirt with the same commitment and dedication as always.”

“I was responsible for all this controversy”. “I was the one who publicly expressed my desire to go to Real Madrid. I ended up being, even involuntarily, responsible for the poor relationship between the two clubs.”

Who knows what may happen next season. Real Madrid could have a terrible season, United win the double (or treble) again. If reports are to be believed the Real Madrid players didnt exactly seem to keen on playing alongside him for various reasons. (Also Real have just signed the player Van Der Vart).

Carlos Queiroz, United’s coach and Fergie’s right hand man has been appointed as manager of the Portugal national football team. He has signed a contract worth apparentally £1.5m.

Carlos was a big part of how United play recently and was important in the signings of various players (who played in Portugal) i.e. Ronaldo, Nani and Anderson. These 3 (or maybe 2!) are a big part of the future of United.

Does this mean Ronaldo is even less likely to stay??? Or maybe Carlos can tell him all out Real Madrid and why its not right for him. Carlos was manager for a year a couple years or so ago and it wasnt really a success.

In some other Ronaldo news its been all in the news about what Sepp Blatter (idiot!) said about Ronaldo and footballers and how they are “modern day slaves”. How can a footballer earning about £120,000 be called a slave. Its a very poor choice of words and other ppl in FIFA and in other football associations are saying the same. Apparently Ronaldo has agreed with Blatter?!?! (There is an article with various quotes and he had the chance to clarify what he meant etc but he didnt. However it was in The Sun so who knows how true it is???). Football is the only world where a contract really means nothing!! Ronaldo for example has about 4 years left in his. The way Blatter is saying it is pretty much saying contracts are pointless (which to be honest we already know!!!).

Blatter (along with Platini) just dont seem to like English football.
